Hi!

My name is Alexis Johnson, I’m a Music Brand Partnerships Professional based in New York, NY.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, I moved to DC to attend Howard University as an undergrad, studying Communications and Sports Administration. At the time, I was highly acknowledged for my skills as a videographer and editor, but the limitations of my teachings never confined me to my campus. I quickly sought learning opportunities and internships on and off campus that allowed me to broaden my interest in marketing and other industries such as technology, entertainment, and events.

After graduation, I spent my first few years as a professional digital marketer, leading strategy for small businesses in the tech and real estate sectors. I also continued to build upon my skillset in the live event and music industry which led me to opportunities as a full-time contractor, mainly working with clients in the large-scale event space which include music festivals, conferences, film festivals, brand activations, and tour management.

I have had the amazing opportunity to work firsthand with some of the most notable artists, brands, event producers, creative strategists, organizations, and industry leaders, being able to travel across the country to create experiences for thousands to enjoy. This includes but is not limited to, Afropunk, Next Music, Live Nation, Roc Nation, and others across brand management, digital marketing, experiential production, and business development for clients that include Beats/Apple, Starbucks, Coinbase, Burger King, Amazon, Pepsi Co., and more.

Upon relocating to NYC I shifted my focus to the music industry and currently serve as the Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships and Strategic Marketing at Atlantic Records. Working across a diverse roster of talent, I have had the opportunity to bridge artists with brands through commercial partnerships, events, sync licensing, paid performances, product placements, and more.

As a born “side-hustler”, I continue to work towards my creative endeavors, as an alum of Spotify’s Sound Up Program and the producer of an upcoming podcast called Here’s A Little Story (go check out the pilot episode HERE, lmk what you think). With a growing interest in entertainment law, I am also in the process of pursuing my J.D. candidacy for Fall 2024 enrollment in a part-time/evening program.
